Customer Assistants (Cashiers)

Job Description

ECCO Gulf Majorel Qatar is seeking dedicated Customer Assistants (Cashiers) to join our team in Qatar. As a Customer Assistant, you will be the face of our company, ensuring that every customer receives exceptional service. Your primary responsibility will be to manage transactions efficiently and accurately while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy interacting with customers.

  • Receive payments via pre-paid cards, process payments from tanker drivers using the pre-paid cards. Payments should be scanned and processed through the E-Cash machine. 
  • Prepare customer receipts, in the event of issues with the electronic cash system, prepare manual receipts for tanker services to ensure customers receive confirmation of their payments.
  • Process transactions, efficiently and accurately handle customer purchases, including cash, credit, debit, and digital payments, while ensuring prompt service.
  • Greeting customers, welcome customers with a friendly and professional attitude as they approach the checkout counter.
  • Assisting customers, answer queries regarding products, services, store policies, and promotions in a helpful and approachable manner.
  • Resolving customer issues, handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to a supervisor when needed.
  • Prepare daily reports, create initial daily trip reports and settlement sheets detailing amounts and transaction numbers, as requested by the supervisor.
  • Track transaction details, maintain an accurate log of all transactions to ensure that all records are kept up to date and comply with the Company’s regulations.
  • Monitor water tanker operations, in some cases, Customer Assistants will be responsible for monitoring water tankers, ensuring there is no wasteful usage of water, and noting any traffic violations. Any violations should be reported directly to the supervisor.
  • Fieldwork, this responsibility involves standing or walking in non-air-conditioned areas, requiring customer assistants to work in outdoor or less comfortable conditions.
  • Tanker measurement, occasionally, Customer Assistants will be required to take measurements of water tankers to issue tanker volume certificates, ensuring the accuracy of data for records and reporting.
  • Follow Company’s procedures, Customer Assistants will work under the direct supervision of the Company’s staff and must adhere to all Company’s regulations, guidelines, and procedures for safe and efficient operations.
  • Adhere to company policies, ensure all actions, from handling payments to reporting issues, align with company policies and the Company’s protocols.
  • Maintaining the checkout area, ensure the cash register station is neat, organized, and equipped with the necessary supplies like receipt paper and bags.
  • Handling returns and exchanges, process returns or exchanges in accordance with the store's policies.
  • Security and loss prevention, maintain vigilance in identifying and reporting suspicious activity to prevent theft or fraud.
  • Balance the cash register, at the end of each shift, Customer Assistants are responsible for ensuring that the cash register is balanced, and any discrepancies are reported to management.
  • Secure financial data, ensure that all transaction records, receipts, and payments are securely stored and accurately documented.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, work closely with team members to ensure the store operates efficiently, especially during busy periods.
  • Report to supervisors, provide regular updates to supervisors, reporting any issues with transactions, equipment, or customer complaints.

     

Required Profile

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about customer service and possess the skills necessary to excel in this role. Ideal candidates will have a blend of experience and a willingness to learn.

  • At least 5 years of experiences in Cashier, experience in industries involving payments, transactions, or logistics, is preferred. 
  • Strong Computer skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
