Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Research Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in Photovoltaics (PV) and Corrosion Research Services within the Environment and Energy sector. This role focuses on the development, testing, and analysis of materials, coatings, and systems to enhance the performance and durability of PV modules and infrastructure exposed to environmental stressors. The candidate will be responsible for conducting experimental research, analysing degradation mechanisms, and contributing to innovative solutions for improving energy systems reliability and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Design and execute laboratory and field experiments to evaluate PV module degradation, corrosion behaviour, and material performance under environmental exposure (e.g., UV, salt mist, humidity).
-
Analyse corrosion data using electrochemical methods (e.g., EIS, potentiodynamic polarization) and surface characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, XPS).
-
Support accelerated aging studies, environmental chamber testing, and long-term durability analysis of PV systems and components.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and validate models predicting material lifespan and corrosion impacts on PV systems.
-
Prepare detailed technical reports, research papers, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
-
Ensure lab practices comply with safety, quality, and environmental regulations (e.g., ISO, ASTM, IEC standards).
-
Participate in grant proposal writing, project planning, and technical reviews.
