Lab IT System admin
- Manage, configure, and support complex systems crucial to computational biology and data management, ensuring reliable performance that aligns with research needs.
- Additionally, the system admin will oversee the integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-value lab equipment, enhancing efficiency, reducing downtime, and minimizing disruptions to research.
- This role also supports improved data management and security by securely storing, organizing, and making data accessible.
- The system admin’s expertise will further optimize computational biology workflows by managing software updates and addressing technical issues, ultimately enhancing QBRI’s computational biology support.
- Overall, this role will significantly benefit our laboratory operations, supporting both current and future research initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows), networking, and IT infrastructure within a lab environment.
- Familiarity with lab-specific hardware, data acquisition systems including backup systems, LIMS and troubleshooting for laboratory equipment.
- Candidate must have 1-2 years of experience in IT or system admin or engineering, preferably in a biomedical or laboratory setting. F22
