ECCO Gulf Majorel Qatar is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Operating System Administration (Unix, Linux, Windows) to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our operating systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and security of our IT infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure high availability.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery processes to safeguard data integrity.
- Configure, manage, and maintain user accounts, access permissions, and security policies in line with IT compliance standards.
- Automate routine system administration tasks using shell scripting, PowerShell, or configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- Collaborate with network, database, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems.
- Perform capacity planning and resource optimization to meet current and future business needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Conduct system audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability scans, and apply remediations as necessary.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.
- Provide technical support for software deployments, server builds, and environment configurations.
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Support virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V for server consolidation and management.
- Manage and maintain system virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) including provisioning virtual machines, monitoring resource usage, and optimizing virtual environments.
- Configure and maintain system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) to proactively detect and respond to infrastructure performance issues.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance IT infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
