Digital Projects Specialist – Cards & Payments

The Digital Projects Specialist will play a key role in the delivery of strategic initiatives across the cards and payments domain, while also supporting broader digital transformation programs across the bank. The role involves working across business and IT teams to manage the implementation of new platforms, enhancements to existing systems, and the launch of new products including mobile banking features, card programs, and digital onboarding journeys. The ideal candidate must bring strong experience in cards and payment systems, with a solid understanding of project delivery in the GCC banking sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support delivery of projects related to debit, credit, prepaid, and commercial cards.

  • Develop business requirement documents (BRDs), user journeys, and technical handover packages.

  • Coordinate with card schemes and technology vendors on execution, compliance, and integrations.

  • Contribute to digital initiatives such as mobile app enhancements, card tokenization, and payment orchestration platforms.

  • Define and execute test scenarios for User Acceptance Testing (UAT); track and resolve issues with IT and vendors.

  • Coordinate across internal teams including PMO, IT, Operations, Compliance, and Marketing to ensure project readiness.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and prepare structured updates for leadership.

  • Support operational readiness through training materials, process documentation, and go-live planning.

  • Recommend and support process automation, customer experience improvements, and adoption of digital capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in banking or fintech, focusing on card payments and digital projects.

  • Proven track record with card scheme initiatives or digital banking transformations.

  • Understanding of banking environments and regulatory expectations in the GCC.

  • Experience in documenting and delivering technology or operational change.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of card product lifecycles, payment platforms, and mobile banking architecture.

  • Skilled in creating clear documentation and facilitating communication between business and IT.

  • Strong stakeholder management, coordination, and time management skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
